Are you passionate about making a difference in your community?
Do you enjoy working outdoors and helping people? Are you committed to upholding personal integrity and tackling anti-social behavior? If you have strong interpersonal skills from previous roles in security, civil enforcement, traffic management, or customer service, then consider joining Barnsley Council as an Environmental Enforcement Officer.
District Enforcement collaborates closely with various Local Authorities nationwide and is recognized for its excellence in addressing anti-social behavior in parks and open spaces. Many former employees have transitioned to roles in the Council, Police, or Emergency Services, showcasing the valuable experience gained as Environmental Enforcement Officers.
What does the role entail?
As an Environmental Enforcement Officer, you will be empowered by the Local Authority to investigate and address ASB offenses such as littering, dog fouling, and cycling in prohibited areas. Your responsibilities will include educating offenders and enforcing penalties, primarily through Fixed Penalty Notices.
You will conduct patrols in urban and rural areas, either on foot or using a provided vehicle. By challenging criminal behavior and promoting positive change, you will contribute to creating cleaner and safer environments for all residents.
While issuing Fixed Penalty Notices is part of the job, there are no individual targets. This role focuses on fostering positive behavioral changes within the community, combating anti-social behavior, and providing evidence for potential legal actions.
Working collaboratively within a team, you will maintain detailed records of observed offenses, participate in debriefing sessions, and deliver exceptional customer service by offering information and guidance to the public.
If you are someone who thrives in an active role, this opportunity could be perfect for you. Apply now, and a recruitment representative will contact you.
