Position Overview
Spencer Ogden is partnered with an exciting Environmental and Engineering Consultancy looking to expand its Environmental Team by bringing in an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant. The successful candidate will join the dynamic team, collaborating on challenging and exciting projects spanning various sectors, including data centres, large-scale residential developments (LDR), and commercial developments. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to scope and deliver projects in line with client requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Coordinating Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports; and Industrial Emission (IE) Directive Licence.
Technical report writing including preparation of EIA scoping and screening reports, Human Health Impact Assessment, waste management plans.
Providing leadership by overseeing, guiding, and managing junior team members and sub-consultants to meet project requirements effectively.
Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
Assisting in project and program management for large and complex projects, including post-planning approval assistance.
Preparation of and creating proposals to address client needs.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience working in the environmental sector
Experience preparing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and/or EPA Industrial Emissions Licensing
Minimum BSc or BA (Hons) degree in environmental science or related discipline.
Self-motivated, organised and capable of working on their own initiative.
High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
Capacity to respond to tight timelines, reporting needs, and internal reporting structures.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
>5 Years Experience
Full Clean Driving Licence or Working towards would be beneficial
Previous experience in site inspection or environmental auditing.
Expertise in the preparation of Environmental Liability Risk Assessments, Closure Restoration, and Aftercare Management Plans in accordance with current guidance.
Experience in coordinating environmental monitoring programs (water, effluent, discharge license-related) and preparation of periodic compliance reports.
Membership/Chartership of a recognized Environmental Professional body such as IEMA, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM, etc.
