About The RoleMorrison Water Servicesis recruiting for an Environmental Advisorto work on our Northern Area Frameworks basedinYorkshire and the North WestAs the Environmental Advisoryou will be part of our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Teamwho are responsiblefor SHEQ Compliance, Support and Advice in the Northern Region. The Environmental Advisor will beresponsible for day-to-day environmental management of high-profile projects, working directly with site teams and customer representatives. The role relies onexcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the abilityto tailor the explanation of complex technical information to different site teams and third parties. Joining us gives you the scope and ability to work for an organisation who are not only invested in your career, but your future too.As the Environmental Advisor your responsibilities will include:Promote vision and values to internal and external stakeholders, in particular for Safety, Health & EnvironmentProvide team and strategic support to the Capital Delivery SHEQ Manager and wider team, to ensure it remains compliant with all environmental legislation, whilstdelivering continual environmental improvementsSupport Operational Teams in the production Environmental Management Plan (EMP) elements of the Construction Phase and Environmental PlansAssist Capital Delivery SHEQ Manager in Reviewing and maintaining Environmental Management procedures, templates & forms as appropriateAssist with the monitoring, analysis of and reporting ofenvironmental data and performanceCarry out site inspections and ensure legal compliance to applicable environmental legislation is maintainedLiaise with designers, Ecologists, and environmental habitat experts to coordinate, identify and provide mitigation measures to support deliveryProvide direction, support and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental duties and responsibilitiesProvide environmental coaching and support to staffFocus on completion and administration of all aspects of Environmental Permit applicationsFacilitate site visits/meetings with regulatory bodies as requiredMonitor and review all environmental events ensuring all incidents and near misses are correctly reported, categorised and processed, and prior toincident close-out, ensure root causes for environmental events have been determined and any remedial actions closed outAssist in the identification and delivery of efficiency savings and environmental protection enhancementsSkills & Knowledge RequirementsQualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline and/or demonstrable, significant work based experienceProfessional membership and working towards Chartered statusGood understanding of current environmental issues and challenges in particular Waste Management, Carbon Capture, Biodiversity, Sustainability.Detailed understanding of environmental legislation with good understanding of regulatory enforcement outcomesAble to demonstrate competency in the application of Environmental Permitting regimesExperience of working with operational sites and teams in construction or utilities sector, with a clear understanding of associated risk management procedures and mitigationExperience of implementing and maintaining an environmental management system to ISO14001 standardExperienced and confident auditorConfident in the investigation and reporting associated with effective root cause analysis and close out of environmental incidentsGood understanding of matters relating to pollution prevention and incident management, particularly within the water environmentThe role will involve travel within the Northern Region, therefore a driving license is required for the roleAs a valued employee of the M Group Services Water Division, you'll be entitled to:Company car Or allowance and Fuel Card with a range of Hybrid and Electric CarsMatched Pension SchemePrivate Health CareAccess to our Employee Assistance ProgrammeOpportunities to progress in a successful companyLife AssuranceThe option to take out Personal Accident InsuranceThe option to partake in Payroll givingSalary Finance - an online portal offering financial support via articles, videos and blogs.
