We are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Role ResponsibilityReporting directly to the Head of Future Generations, the Environmental Advisor will join our team in North Wales covering Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd, Anglesey regions and will be working alongside our Environment Advisors covering South Wales, Midlands, and South West England. The role will cover Griffiths’ infrastructure, rail and utilities projects across North Wales, and offers the opportunity to work across a dynamic and diverse range of projects with significant environmental considerations. On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the Environmental Advisor will include the following (not exhaustive):Providing advice for obtaining legal compliance consents, permits, licences and waste exemptionsSupporting project teams with the development of Materials Management Plans (MMPs) and Site Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) to ensure all key opportunities and risks are identified, mitigated and subsequently managedMonitoring performance against the environmental and sustainability strategy and objectives, system, standards, processes and procedures and reporting back to the Future Generations ManagerLiaising with enforcing authorities and professional groups within the regionDelivering and supporting the Future Generations Manager in business-wide strategies and initiatives designed to improve wellbeing of future generations, sustainability and environmental performanceInvestigating all environmental non-conformances and audit findings, making recommendations and supporting the delivery of suitable and adequate corrective and preventative actions requiredThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be an Environmental Advisor who is in receipt of the following:Experience of working on either large civil engineering, building infrastructure projects or construction industryGood knowledge and experience of statutory environmental legislation and regulations, as well as industry best practiceGood knowledge and experience of environmental and sustainability managements systems, such as ISO 14001, ISO50001, ISO20400, BS8001Experience in Microsoft office (word, excel PowerPoint)Excellent communications skills – written and verbalFull UK driving licenceWhy UsFor the successful Environmental Advisor, weoffer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits: Training & Development Enhanced holiday entitlement Contributory pension scheme Access to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc. Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential advice Access tojoin our Employee Communities inc.BAME; LGBTQ+; Working Parents Griffiths, a CRH company, is an equal opportunity employer.
