Your impact
To provide professional support and guidance to the site Leadership team on all operational Health, Safety and Environment matters and site Strategy delivery in alignment with Health, Safety and Environment policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Health, Safety and Environment performance improvement at a given site(s) to deliver agreed KPI targets
Performance improvement to drive SHE KPI's
Qualitative feedback
Ensure the site's Health, Safety and Environment policies and systems are managed effectively to support the adherence to all relevant legislation and agreed internal standards
Policies and systems in place
Policies and systems up to date
Monitor and embed the site management processes, including the investigation of all lost time incidents and management of the incident recording system, to ensure a safe working environment is maintained
Incident investigation
Action plans
Ensure that Health, Safety and Environment incidents are reported to the enforcing authorities, in accordance with the requirements of relevant regulations, to ensure legal compliance
Compliance with report requirements
Timely reporting
Lead the site's Health, Safety and Environment audit programmes to ensure compliance with agreed standards and recommend areas for improvement

Co-ordinate and manage local Stakeholder relationships (EA, HSE, Customers, Local Community) and ensure no compliance issues

Develop and deliver the site's Health, Safety and Environment plan in conjunction with the site's leadership team to improve Health, Safety and Environment performance
Site's Health, Safety and Environment Plan agreed
Understanding and deployment by the site's teams
Ensure that Health, Safety and Environment matters are considered in all Capex projects in line with policy and insurance requirements
All Capex projects have Health, Safety and Environment section completed and signed
Develop and implement Safety/Environmental Awareness culture development activities across all functions
Clear Safety/Environmental Awareness plan in place
Evidence of delivery of training
Ensure the effective performance management of any direct reports and coaching/talent development of Front Line and Shift Management to support the delivery of the Health, Safety and Environment plan
Performance Ratings
Evidence of coaching intervention
Development, talent and succession plans
About you
Significant experience in EHS advisory roles, preferably within the food industry or related industrial operations.
Thorough understanding of UK and European health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Possess a NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent certification.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field. Additional qualifications in Engineering or Science are advantageous.
Proficient in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for effective data analysis and presentation.
Strong communicator capable of developing and delivering training, leading safety initiatives, and engaging with both internal teams and external partners.
Proactive and solution-focused approach, with a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible workplace.
