Environment, Health and Safety Advisor

Salary: �32,000 per annum

Location: The Royal forest factory Coleford Gloucester GL16 8JB

Are you passionate about driving sustainability and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace? My client are seeking a dedicated Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join their team at LRS Coleford, based in Coleford with occasional travel to Stockley Park and Dublin offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and support across all Business Units regarding sustainability reporting, including scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Lead the GB&I sustainability steering committee, driving initiatives to promote environmental stewardship.
  • Oversee environmental and sustainability reporting, including KPI reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct proactive and reactive EHS inspections, audits, and Gemba walks.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, reporting findings to the EHS Manager.
  • Maintain EHS accreditation's and ensure compliance with legislation and corporate guidelines.
  • Support management at all levels in fulfilling their EHS responsibilities and engage staff in EHS initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to enhance awareness and compliance.

Accountability:

  • Develop and implement the site's environmental strategy and compliance processes.
  • Contribute to fostering a Zero Harm culture across all Business Units.
  • Demonstrate a Gemba-focused mindset and lead environmental and sustainability programs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant sustainability qualification or strong working knowledge in sustainability (scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions).
  • Level 4 Occupational Health and Safety qualification, with a view to achieving or already holding a level 6 qualification.
  • IEMA foundation certificate in Environmental Management, or working towards or already holding a certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, capable of presenting to all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
