Position: English Teacher

This SEMH secondary school is seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join our team and inspire our students to achieve their full potential. This is a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs
Differentiate instruction to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behaviour
Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their goals
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support and development
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to support the overall well-being and academic progress of each student

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at secondary level
Understanding of the needs of students with SEMH and experience working in an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students and promote inclusive practice
A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
