ACS International Schools are seeking an IB English Teacher to work at our Cobham campus in Surrey, UK. The teacher will be required to teach the IB curriculum at High School level, ages 16-18.At ACS International School Cobham, our mission is to develop students who are ready for anything, meaning we are an active learning partner rather than a passive education provider. Accountabilities:Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students in a safe learning environment, rooted in mutual respectPlan and teach well-structured engaging lessons, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all studentsPromote student progress and outcomes, assess and provide feedbackDemonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledgeWork collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching and learning resources for students at different levelsPromote a love of learningOffer help to all students who need additional learning support, working with Resource teachers, including EAL and learning differences specialists, to support students with specific learning needsUndertake training, keep up-to-date on requirements and work as an advisor in the Pastoral Care programme, overseeing the day-to-day wellbeing of students to identify any student issues, problem-solving with the pastoral care team as required, liaising with parents/carersParticipate in the extra-curricular programmeSupport with other duties to assist with the smooth running of the school.Start date: August 2024Working hours: Full time, term time, Monday to FridaySafeguarding ACS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as an employee of ACS you are expected to share this commitment.
