English Teacher (Ty Gwyn Education Centre) English Teacher (Ty Gwyn Education Centre)Ty Gwyn Education CentreY Dolydd, Aberdare, CF44 8EX. 01685 652525Capacity 64English TeacherSalary: Teachers Salary + SEN allowance (£5,098)Start Date: September 2024The Governing Body wish to appoint an English Teacher to work at Ty Gwyn Education Centre to complement our existing team.A post has arisen for a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic teacher of secondary Eng-lish, based at Ty Gwyn Education Centre.Ty Gwyn Education Centre is a secondary age Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in a newly refurbished building in the Aberdare area, serving the whole of RCT and learn-ers from age 11 to 16 years.Ty Gwyn Education Centre offers specialist provision for up to 64 learners with be-havioural, emotional and social needs that cannot be met in their mainstream school. Learners are a mixture of full and part time (KS3 only) and access a broad and bal-anced curriculum of core subjects (English, Maths and Science) and a range of voca-tional and foundation subjects. There is a growing emphasis on developing learner wellbeing and mental health andTy Gwyn is a Trauma Informed School with a grow-ing team of therapeutic support staff.As the main English teacher at Ty Gwyn, you will be responsible for planning, re-sourcing and delivering personalised learning in this important core subject to KS3 and 4. You will be leading the development of learners’ skills in speaking and listening we are working to become an accredited Communication Friendly School, writing and reading, as well as preparing learners for the GCSE examination series.
