We are looking for an Engineering Fitter apprentice to join us in Sept 2024, who is excited about maintaining and repairing products that are revolutionizing the world of vacuum. We want people who are engaged and excited about solving unique technical problems.What will the apprentice be doing?Responsibilities, aligned with the Level 3 standard, include but aren’t limited to:Developing an understanding of workshop equipmentLearning how to service our pumps by carrying out checks and maintenanceLearning how to repair and replace faulty partsApplying safe systems of working including electrical safety testingApplying proven techniques and procedures to solve engineering/manufacturing problemsWhat training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?Leybold and our training provider, East Surrey College will collaborate to ensure that you are provided with continuous training and development.The first year you will spend 3 days a week at East Surrey college to learn engineering principles, and this will reduce to 1 day in year 2.Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you will obtain a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering.What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?Upon successful completion of this scheme, you could be offered a Service Engineer role with our inhouse team in Chessington, with the potential to move out into the field or within the wider Atlas Copco Group. You could also be offered further training to expand your learning.
