If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to join one of the largest defence contractors in the UK as our Chief Engineer / Technical Manager. As Chief Engineer / Technical Manager, you will lead their engineering team in developing and delivering high-quality solutions for our defence clients. You will leverage your expertise in one or more of the following areas: RF Engineering (SATCOM, RADAR), Embedded Software Engineering (C++, Python, FPGA, RFSoc), Firmware Engineering, FPGA, DSP, MATLAB, Doors, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Engineering, or CEMA.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to identify and address technical challenges, mitigate risks, and achieve project objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in the defence sector, with a proven track record of success in leading engineering teams and delivering innovative solutions. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: RF Engineering (SATCOM, RADAR), Embedded Software Engineering (C++, Python, FPGA, RFSoc), Firmware Engineering, FPGA, DSP, MATLAB, Doors, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Engineering, or CEMA. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, with a focus on delivering value and exceeding client expectations. Relevant engineering qualifications and certifications are highly desirable.
