We are working with a client who is looking for a Lead Engineering Deputy. The revolve involves undertaking planned and reactive maintenance and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment whilst coordinating and managing a maintenance team. This is a full time, permanent and static role based in York.

Main duties include:

  • Provide technical leadership for the maintenance team, fostering a collaborative approach.
  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance with a demonstration of high-level technical expertise.
  • Coordinate labour to ensure the successful delivery of planned preventative maintenance.
  • Manage the provision of reactive maintenance services during and outside regular operating hours.
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits to uphold compliance and quality standards.
  • Assist in the operation of the Permit to Work System and develop systems for optimal plant maintenance.
  • Encourage and actively participate in energy-saving schemes, promoting economic energy use.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and provide recommendations for nominations.
  • Maintain and manage the Asset database, utilising IT systems for effective data management.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • IOSH Managing Safety certificate
  • HND, NVQ or equivalent
  • Previous role as authorised person in relevant role
  • Understanding on Construction Design Management (CDM)
  • Preferably 10 years experience in building services and plant engineering
