Role OverviewWe are seeking a competent and organised Engineering Stores Manager, you will oversee a small team and be responsible for the efficient management of goods in, goods out, and overall stores operations. Your role will involve ensuring accurate stock control, maintaining organised inventory systems, coordinating deliveries, and managing a smooth workflow within the stores department. Your role will involve ensuring accurate stock control, maintaining organised inventory systems, coordinating deliveries, and managing a smooth workflow within the stores department.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a small team of stores staff, providing guidance and support to maximise productivity and efficiency.Manage the receipt and inspection of incoming goods, ensuring accuracy of quantities and quality checks. Update relevant records and systems accordingly.Coordinate and prioritize the dispatch of goods, ensuring timely delivery to customers and other departments within the company.Conduct regular stock checks, audits, and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels. Investigate and rectify any discrepancies or variances.Develop and implement effective stock control procedures to optimize stock accuracy, minimize stock holding costs, and ensure adequate supply levels.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized stores environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and internal procedures.Monitor and analyse stock usage, identifying trends and suggesting improvements to meet production and customer demands.Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods, and resolving any issues or concerns.Collaborate with other departments, such as production and purchasing, to ensure smooth workflow, timely material availability, and efficient operations.Provide regular reports and updates on stores activities, including stock levels, stock movements, and performance indicators, to management.RequirementsPrevious experience in stores management within an engineering environment is prefferedStrong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a small team of staff.Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Knowledge of engineering machinery parts, components, and associated inventory management practices.A strong sense of ownership and accountability towards stores operations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with procedures.FLT Licence desirable.Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate solutions.A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.]For more information please contact the team at Recra.About Recra ConsultingAt RECRA, we have a drive and passion to establish and build long lasting relationships.
