Engineering Manager - Utilities

Our client are shaping future of Britain's electricity system and are embarking on an exciting journey towards cleaner, greener energy. We're hiring a forward-thinking Engineering Manager who will oversee projects valued of half a billion pounds, condensing timelines from seven to three years while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Spearhead the tender process, defining specifications, assessing bids, and liaising with specialist firms and contractors.
Coordinate efforts to deliver electricity transformation initiatives, engaging stakeholders and fostering innovation.
Provide advice on transmission infrastructure design and delivery, utilizing external consultants and existing network owners.
Engage with Ofgem, government, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and project goals.
Qualifications:
Experience in transmission system development or construction, with a focus on safety and feasibility.
Understanding of end-to-end processes for delivering transmission infrastructure and managing tenders for large-scale projects.
Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans and evaluate feasibility and system impact studies.
Awareness of regulatory frameworks and industry standards, with the capability to drive commercial outcomes for projects.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of the full project lifecycle for delivering transmission assets and awareness of GB electricity infrastructure frameworks.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizations.
Experience in Gas or Electricity
