Engineering Manager (AI HealthTech)

We are excited to be working with a VC-backed AI HealthTech scale-up looking to hire an exceptional Engineering Manager into their UK headquarters.
Funded by high-profile backers, they continue to invest heavily in their teams in 2024 following their Series B fundraise in 2023, and see now as the perfect time to add an early-stage startup specialist engineering leader into their already high-calibre engineering org.
As Engineering Manager, you will be the driving force behind a world-class full stack engineering team that builds, tests and iterates at incredible speed. Reporting directly to the VP Engineering, you will bring a drive and passion to your work that inspires your team and are more than happy to roll your sleeves up to help your team to execute, when necessary.
This hire can either be based remote-first in the UK or hybrid out of their London office. If you're based remote-first, occasional travel to work with your team in London would be great, if it suits your personal circumstances.
As Engineering Manager you will:
Manage, empower and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of high performance.
Drive impact, leading efforts in early-stage product discovery to help the team execute on a build-test-iterate loop.
Oversee projects across their tech stack: JavaScript/Typescript, React, NextJS, and Python.
Always be solution minded, navigating through unknowns, ambiguity, and tech-debt tradeoffs to maintain project momentum at all times.
Bring a mindset of innovation, pushing the boundaries of AI/ML technologies to take projects from concept to production.
We want to hear from you if:
You are an early-stage startup specialist; you've been on the journey from Seed to Series A or Series A to Series B, building impactful products from scratch with small-but-mighty engineering teams.
You're either already an impressive engineering leader, or you're an exceptional staff engineer or principal engineer keen to start on your engineering leadership journey.
You are technically very strong with most of their tech stack: JavaScript/Typescript, React, NextJS, and Python
You are outcome-oriented and have a track record of delivering to impressive timescales in early product stages.
You are a mentor and a coach to your teams, leading from the front and inspiring them towards exceptional results.
