Job Description:
Fabrication and Welding is a key part of the engineering provision at South Hampshire College Group’s Southampton campus. It is a specialist curriculum area with high achievement and retention rates delivering courses to full-time learners, adults, and apprentices.
We are offering a fantastic position for a person from a fabrication and welding background to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of Engineers. Working 37 hours per week at the college campus in St Mary’s Street, your role will be teaching high-quality theoretical sessions and practical sessions in our fabrication workshop as required.
The ideal candidate will need recent experience of fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment with excellent knowledge of the materials, tools, and processes involved in the industry at both a local and national level. You will need to work flexibly to meet requirements and have a good team-working ethic. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a commitment to excellence. Knowledge of the curriculum and broad trend within the manufacturing industry is desirable, as is a desire to undertake teacher training.
The application closing date is 25th March 2024 with interviews being held from Mid-April. The closing date may be brought forward if the right candidate is found.
