Our client is the UK Division of a global leader in the manufacture of high-precision machine components and complex assemblies. While serving many industries, the business primary focus is supplying mission critical components for its aerospace customers. Our client supplies precision machine parts and gear technology solutions to the aerospace and defence sectors. Their continual investment in new cutting-edge technology and technical training allows them to support complete supply chain solutions on time. The role will be hybrid working and will be based at their new head office, a purpose-built factory with a further seven satellite facilities in proximity, each offering cellular manufacturing and QA support. Their comprehensive machine capability enables core parts to be manufactured complete with maximum efficiency in dedicated areas adopting lean manufacturing principles. Manufacturing is primarily small to medium batch work.
Engineering Director – Roles & Responsibilities
The role is part of the leadership level of the business and reports to the Managing Director. Main Purpose of Job: The Engineering Director will have both strategic, technical and operational responsibilities, including providing expert engineering guidance in the Company, managing engineering projects and being involved with developing new products/methods for the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert engineering guidance within the Company in areas such as manufacturing and inspection.
Manage the production life cycle from drawings receipt to part delivery, in accordance with relevant specifications.
Implement effective and efficient production processes for the Company.
Define the strategic direction of the Company.
Skills and Qualifications/Experience
Skills:
Qualified or an equivalent level of competence.
At least 10 years commercial and technical experience in an engineering environment that provides products for the Aerospace Industry.
Business knowledge of the industry and the company, understanding how the market and competitors perform to help create a better business strategy.
High level of commercial and strategic awareness with understanding of financial management and analytical skills.
