About the Role
Base Location: Perth or Glasgow
Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time|Flexible First options available
The Thermal Commercial Team are an established team responsible for managing the commercial and contractual positions for the SSE Thermal Flex Gen fleet in the UK and Ireland. This role will provide an opportunity for the right candidate to get involved in the breath of wholesale energy pricing & markets, strategy, regulation, and policy pertaining to our fantastic Thermal portfolio.
- Leverage of both Internal Portfolio and European Trading optionality to support the delivery of SSE Thermal P&L (approx. £400m/year).
- Develop and maintain new reports providing reporting on risk management metrics & positions as well as develop and maintain report/dashboard showing key market and pricing indicators.
- Advise/Support Regulation on key market design changes impacting the thermal business and advise the thermal team of change proposals and impacts.
- Advise/Support the Thermal leadership team on Capacity Mechanism Auction fundamentals and cost-based price formation of Exit Bids for existing SSE assets for the GB and Ireland CM Auctions.
- Support and assist management of the Thermal Commercial elements of the SSE Thermal PPA contracts and JV relationships-
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Understanding of energy markets.
- Knowledge of trading products would be beneficial.
- Understanding of industry challenges, regulatory change and impact on commercial opportunities.
- Ability understand complex commercial proposals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.
