A prestigious global bank headquartered in London is seeking a talented Gas and Power Flow Trader to join their esteemed trading desk.
The Gas and Power Flow Trader will play a pivotal role in executing trading strategies, managing positions, and optimizing profitability in the gas and power markets.
Market Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of gas and power markets, including supply and demand dynamics, infrastructure constraints, regulatory developments, and market trends to identify trading opportunities.
# Trading Execution:
Execute trades in the gas and power markets, including physical and financial products, to capitalize on market inefficiencies, manage flows, and optimize profitability.
# Position Management:
Manage a portfolio of gas and power positions, including spot and forward contracts, options, and other derivatives, while adhering to risk limits and compliance requirements.
# Flow Trading:
Actively participate in flow trading activities, including market making, liquidity provision, and order execution, to facilitate client transactions and enhance trading desk revenue.
# Risk Management:
Monitor and manage market risk, credit risk, and operational risk associated with trading activities, utilizing risk management tools, models, and strategies to mitigate risk exposures.
# Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, counterparties, and brokers to facilitate trading activities, source liquidity, and gather market intelligence.
# Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, structuring, research, and risk management, to develop and execute trading strategies and achieve business objectives.
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field. CFA, FRM) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in gas and power trading, with a strong track record of success in flow trading and market making.
Deep understanding of gas and power markets, including physical and financial products, market structures, trading protocols, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent quantitative skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative modeling, and risk management techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders in a fast-paced trading environment.
Proficiency in trading systems and software, including experience with electronic trading platforms, market data analysis tools, and risk management systems.
Knowledge of energy derivatives, options pricing, and volatility trading strategies is a plus.
