An international trading house and investment solution provider is seeking an Energy Analyst to join their Battery & Energy Solutions Department in London.The Energy Analyst will contribute to the development and implementation of these objectives by exploring and analysing opportunities as they arise, building business cases and generating material to be used in Investment Committee applications.Previous experience in the UK or EU energy sector, in particular direct involvement in energy retail, energy trading, energy management or consultancy is a must for this role.
TYPE: Permanent, full-timeWORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday (Hybrid working)SALARY: up to £33.5-45K depending on experience, plus good benefitsSTART: ASAPLOCATION: LondonEnergy Analyst Core Duties:• Support Department General Manager (DGM) and other Members of Battery & Energy Solutions Department to develop new business including gathering information, investment sourcing and deal making (setting marketing and strategy, meeting & negotiating with advisor / seller / partner) and deal execution• Liaise and support more general Energy Innovation Initiative business development as required• Preparation of internal application materials including business plan so that management can make a suitable decision on strategy and investment• Contribute to the monitoring and performance assessment of ‘live’ investments• Support strategic exit of investments as requiredEnergy Analyst Ideal Candidate• Previous experience in the UK energy sector, in particular direct involvement in energy retail, energy trading, energy management or consultancy• Undergraduate university education or higher (technical discipline associated with energy management or sustainability preferably engineering or mathematics)• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and team player• Excellent understanding of retail and/or trading functions within UK Energy sector• Good understanding of UK energy markets• Proficient in MS Office• Interaction with market systems or specific trading/pricing tools (preferred)• Eager to tackle challenges, self-driven and self-confident• Happy to travel when required, mainly in Europe though occasionally further afield• Enthusiastic and eager to learn with an analytical skillset• Have a wider perspective of UK and/or European energy industry and an interest in the energy transition** All applicants for the Energy Analyst must have the right to work in the UK as the Company is not able to offer visa support.If your application is successful, you will be contacted within two business days.We regret that due to the high volume of applications we receive we cannot provide feedback on individual CVs.
