and an impact to be made.Our Retail, Networks & Water practice are looking for an experienced Energy Networks Expert to join
the teamWithin our Retail, Networks & Water
practice, our clients face the corporate world’s biggest challenges while
delivering society’s most crucial project – Net Zero. We help them shape their
decarbonisation strategy, improve and adapt existing capabilities, and bring
our expert knowledge to support large transformation projects to reach
society’s biggest goal.What you will be doingThis is an exciting
opportunity where you will work with a range of clients at the forefront of the
energy sector who regulate, invest in, own and operate, or interact with Energy
Networks in electricity and gas. You will be helping these clients play their
role in shaping, enabling and delivering UK’s Net Zero ambitions. You will work
alongside sector specialists, with a range of expertise relevant to operating
and transforming network utilities, as well as market and policy experts who
hold deep industry knowledge, which will enable you to broaden your own
skillset and expertise.Some examples of the
exciting projects you could be involved in include:Supporting UK Government, develop the shape of the future UK energy market and the roles of energy networks in enabling and delivering Net ZeroWorking with the regulator and energy networks to evolve the regulatory framework to accelerate delivery of net zeroWorking across industry [regulators, networks and connecting parties] to improve the connections process and introduce transformational reforms to address the current challengesSupporting UK Distribution Network businesses, develop their future business plans and develop their evolving role and functions as Distribution System Operators, defining the operating models, propositions and underlying tools and capabilities that enable DSO transitionDeveloping strategy, models and frameworks that enable networks and Local Authorities to deliver their decarbonisation ambitionsSupporting different global investors and asset developers to take forward major new offshore network infrastructure projects for offshore wind and interconnectors between different countries Supporting network businesses and other market actors drive innovation in new technologies which help meet UK Net Zero goals, such as use of hydrogenShaping the strategic digital roadmap, leading vendor selection and the design and delivery of leading network management and grid optimisation solutions including ANM, ADMS and DERMS for Transmission and Distribution companiesLeading operational excellence programmes within energy network businesses to realise market leading efficiency within field and capital programme functions and foster a culture of continuous improvementDesigning and leading delivery of major IT enabled transformation within energy network businesses, including cloud transformation and the implementation of best in breed utilities specific solutionsDefining and delivering digitalisation strategies and establishing new data, analytics and AI capabilities in both Transmission and Distribution networksDeveloping strategy, models and frameworks that enable networks and Local Authorities to deliver their decarbonisation ambitionsYour skills and experienceWe’re looking for talented,
enthusiastic experts who are experienced in the Energy Networks space! You may
have experience working within industry or consulting but most importantly have
a passion for delivering change and transformation whether that be with an
organisational, operational, digital or economic/policy lens. Our main focus
for these roles is across the UK & Ireland markets, but experience in
Australia, the US or Continental Europe would also be useful, as we look to
continue to grow our international presence.Specific areas of
experience that are of interest to us can include:Power/Gas network utilities market policy and regulation development and/or deployment experienceOperational Efficiency/Excellence Programmes across one or more of Network Operations, Customer, Connections, Asset Management, Field Force TransformationIT & Business Change Delivery – Programme Management, Client Side Advisory, Strategy & DesignGrid Modernisation including Flexibility, Smart Grids, Innovation and Smart MeteringKnowledge of current and future energy sector ambitions and challenges, in particular a passion around the Energy Transition and the desire to play an integral role in helping deliver Net ZeroExperience within regulated utilities ideally electricity/gas networks or system/market operatorsExperience within policy makers, regulators or other stakeholders active on energy network issuesFurther to this, we are
looking for individuals who hold the following skills:The ability to develop deep, trust-based relationships with clients and consulting colleagues as well as lead teams.You will have enthusiasm and desire to develop as part of a growing team!You will hold excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialist audiencesAn ability to apply fundamentals to new situations, including quantitative and qualitative analysisWhat a career at Baringa can give you Putting People FirstWe give you every opportunity to progress by having four promotional reviews a year.
