About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Employment Tax Manager to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Longbenton, Newcastle Upon Tyne
What you'll be doing
As an Employment Tax Manager, you will be:
Resolving complex UK Employment Tax and Construction Industry Scheme issues arising across the UK business; Communicating with key personnel in the UK businesses to ensure robust solutions are in place; Influencing and driving positive tax compliance behaviours across the UK businesses; Understanding commercial reasons where businesses challenge you, and using your expert knowledge and experience to help their understanding and influence as appropriate; Providing Employment Tax and CIS reporting input to key corporate projects such as new systems and processes (e.g. P11d processes, PSA reporting, CIS returns).
Who we're looking for
You will:
Have experience of Employment Tax with a background obtained in HMRC, a recognised accounting firm or a large corporate organisation; Either have a professional qualification e.g. ATT, ATII, or be qualified by experience; Have strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to explain complex Employment Tax and CIS issues to non-tax specialists within the HR, Finance and Commercial teams in one-to-one meetings or as part of a group training session; Be self-motivated and capable of working independently and without day-to-day supervision; Be able to travel within the UK and this may involve overnight stays.
