Temporary to Permanent (12-week probation via agency)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Gi Group and work with our Public Sector client as an Emergency Dispatcher based in Bedford, MK41. Our client provides healthcare services for Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Surrey and Cambridgeshire.
Emergency Dispatcher responsibilities:
* Form part of a team of Emergency Dispatchers who each provide management of front-line resources over a specific geographical area, covering the East of England region, on a 24/7 basis (365 days per year)
* Have an understanding and appreciation of the model of high-performance ambulance design to support and enhance effective and efficient utilisation of resources
* To manage and deploy resources to (and during), emergency, urgent and routine incidents in accordance with national and local policy, procedure, and protocol
* Manage and communicate with operational staff by assigning them to emergency, urgent and routine incidents
* Using the system status plan as a guide to where resources should be positioned
Emergency Dispatcher required skills:
* At least 2 years experience within a customer care environment.
* Good IT skills
* Ability to read maps
* Good listening skills
* Effective verbal and written communication skill.
* Accurate data input
* Ability to record information accurately
* Willingness to undertake training
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C+ or equivalent, including English and Math's
* Successful candidates would need to be comfortable completing an Enhanced DBS Check
* Driver's licence required - but non driving role
* First Aid/First Person On Scene Qualification
Emergency Dispatcher Pay:
* Weekdays 06:00 to 20:00 - �12.86
* Nights 20:00 to 06:00 and Saturdays - �16.752
* Sundays and Bank Holidays - �20.58
Emergency Dispatcher Shift:
* Must be fully flexible to work Monday to Sunday, day, or night
* Work 3 to 4 12 hour shifts per week
* In classroom training is 4 weeks, usually Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. No AL or days off can be taken within the first 5 weeks of the start date
*You must be able to be flexible and work both days and nights Monday to Sunday, we are not currently recruiting for part time roles*
