Embedded Software Engineer
We asked a bunch of engineers what they prioritised most out of Time, Money & Status.
56% said Time, everyone else said Money, which fits well with this Embedded Software Engineer job.
The company gives decent pay, and they don't do any overtime - so you do alright, and you get your life back too.
They're redesigning their core platforms and adding many new features, such as a hand-held controller, plus Bluetooth and IoT connectivity - you'll be involved in all of this and seeing the full life-cycle several times over, and if you want to do more than churn out lines of code all day, feel free to get involved with the Systems Engineering too - that's up for grabs if you want to do it.
They don't micro-manage you, instead, you are trusted to understand the problems and deliver solutions (sounds radical, right?) and it's a small team, so you won't find yourself in a pigeonhole and stuck doing the same repetitive thing - there's nowhere to hide.
You need to be experienced in developing low-level embedded software / firmware, and you need to have worked with ARM Cortex based microcontrollers (ideally STM32 ) as well as having worked in both Bare Metal and Real-time operating system environments (any RTOS will do).
