The Role



Reporting into the production manager. Working within a safe, well organised, and clean environment you will build electronic systems, components, and encapsulate products by following manufacturing and assembly procedures. Additionally, you will ensure the smooth running of this manufacturing cell/production line of our Bearing Sensor product range to maximise efficiency and to meet the demands of the Production schedule.



Learning, developing and utilising laser welding skills within a controlled room will be a key part of this role.





The Shifts:



Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm



Friday - 7:30am - 12:30pm





The Pay:



Between £12.50 and £13.25 per hour depending on experiance.





Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:



Completing assemblies by fitting and adjusting parts involving computer aided precision welding, product encapsulation and testing.




  • It is vital that the work you produce is of the highest quality. 

  • Wiring and soldering components.

  • Completing sub-assemblies.

  • Electronics testing using automatic test equipment.

  • Applying potting/bonding materials to encapsulate PCB’s.

  • Work towards departmental objectives and a more efficient and productive function.  



Lead by example and prioritise workload based on resources available with a view to being ahead of the Production Plan and aid the building up of completed products into stock.




  • Be positive, promote teamwork and encourage ideas that contribute to improved quality, performance, and wellbeing of all Production Operatives.

  • Work with the Production Manager & Supervisor to assign, direct, and evaluate the work produced by the Production Operators in the team and oversee the development of their competence.

  • Have the vision to identify material shortages and equipment needs to keep the department running as efficiently as possible.  



Maintain a safe, secure and clean working environment.




  • Follow standards & procedures and ensure that other members of the cell act accordingly.

  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policy and procedure, assist with reviews & execute improvements.  



Support all other production line operatives as required.




  • Learn and understand aspects of all production areas so that your skills can be used throughout the production business.

Essential




  • Capable of working to and meeting deadlines

  • Quality focus

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Production line experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Production line leadership experience

  • Electronic assembly & in-line testing





Desirable




  • Experience of computer aided laser welding

  • Potting/Encapsulation experience





Essential Knowledge/ Skill Set:




  • Team player

  • Adaptable with ability to multi-task

  • Soldering skills

  • The ability to communicate clearly with staff at all levels
