Great opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to join a leading UK technology manufacturing company that offers excellent training, support, and career development.
This new role will suit a ‘hands-on’ Electronics Engineer who will enjoy a broad role in a small specialist team working on complex printing equipment (electrical elements, mechanical components, hardware, software, fluids etc).
The role will involve setting up, running, fault finding/problem solving and interpreting the results of a broad variety of hardware product validation projects.
The Opportunity
Linx Printing Technologies designs and manufactures innovative industrial printing and laser coding equipment used to mark batch info and consumption dates on packaging within food & beverage, pharmaceutical and related sectors.
Based 3-4 days a week at the Linx HQ in PE27 5JL, the Electronics Engineer will be part of a small, newly created ‘Value Analysis & Value Engineering’ team of three, looking to drive product cost reduction without sacrificing performance and quality.
The specialist VAVE team will set up and run a variety of technical validation projects for existing and new products and the jobholder is responsible for setting up, running and evaluating all the verification aspects of experiments in a safe environment. This includes developing test plans/scripts, setting up test jigs, analysing data, and writing up reports.
This is a challenging and stimulating engineering role working across a variety of different physical materials, electrical/mechanical components, software, high voltages, pressures, and flammable liquids.
Linx is a dynamic, successful manufacturing company and part of the global $5bn Veralto organisation, ensuring excellent future career development opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
Electronics Engineering qualification and at least 3-4 years of ‘hands-on’ engineering in multi-disciplinary teams
Specific prior experience making test jigs and running the validation aspects of engineering projects is advantageous but not critical
Able to adapt, build and validate industrial components and prototypes
Appreciation of software, electronics, and mechanical engineering is very useful, including sophisticated system integration requiring analytical skills, problem-solving, and ability to read mechanical drawings
Living (or willing to relocate) within a comfortable commuting distance of PE27 5JL
