Electronic Design Engineer

The company has been a supplier of "Smart Solutions" to the Ocean Industries for more than 40 years. The company is organised in five business areas: marine & naval, offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, defence & industrial and aquaculture.

Mission

The main focus will be supporting our CCTV Marine & Naval Projects group with new designs, updates of existing systems and providing technical support to the sales and manufacturing teams. The position in the first instance is to be part of a team, or act as Lead Engineer, for assigned projects. Additionally, assist with performing technical design reviews, and checks on the new designs to help ensure that the systems are delivered to specification, on time and to budget.

Challenges

As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Preparation of technical specifications for proposals and projects.
Ensure all schemes conform to the design intent and include necessary supporting calculations.
Provide technical support to other engineers, project managers, sales and manufacturing.
Be a part of our team that strive to develop and improve our capabilities.
To understand and apply relevant design, regulatory and industry standards.

Skills

BEng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
Electronic design including circuit design and embedded programming.
Set up and developing of computer networks.
Experience of IP Video Management Systems and optical design desirable.
Proven relevant experience.
Familiar with military standards desirable.
Keen technical and manufacturing background with good all-round awareness.
Abilities to work in team and to take initiatives independently.
Able to plan, prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
