is all about.Electrochemistry ScientistDescriptionWithin Accelera Battery Business, the Electrochemistry team is responsible for performing testing and characterization of Li-ion cells and modules for existing and upcoming customer programs. These programs can be either for commercial deployment or for internal R&D. The Electrochemistry team consists of currently 12 members all working together to drive forward our understanding and capabilities, through our knowledge and experience and you could be part of our success as we are looking for an Electrochemistry Scientist to join the team in Milton Keynes.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Providing independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems or services with greater elements of ambiguity over the senior or lead engineer level and with full accountability to the project team.Delivering independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.Leading the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit.Coordinating and directs work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assisting in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers.Providing support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continuing to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role (see “competencies” below).Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.To be successful in this role you will need experience in the following:Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.Battery electrochemistry knowledge and experience to enable high quality testing of lithium-ion batteries in support of customer projects.Technical expertise, utilising detailed knowledge and understanding of electrochemical properties and materials chemistry of Li-ion energy storage cell technology, to provide support and assistance for Customer, R&D and new product introduction projects.The ability to work within a team of electrochemistry engineers and technicians to support the electrochemical characterisation of Li-ion cell technology for the purposes of verification, parameterisation, and implementation.The ability to collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineering team to perform in-house research, testing and analysis, writing technical reports and participating in review meetings.Skills and experience include substantial work or research in the field of electrochemistry with experience, and knowledge in Li-ion battery technology - ideally with experience with Li-ion batteries.Education, Licenses, Certifications:Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.What we offer:Salary up to £47,000, depending on experienceDefined contribution pension scheme - company contributions up to 9%Annual bonus plan - target 8% (based upon company performance)Private medical insuranceHealth cash plan - support towards medical, optical and dental costsHealth screeningLife assurance25 days annual leave plus public holidaysEmployee discount scheme - covering 100's of retailersFamily friendly policiesYou should expect to be on-site around 80% of the time.Job ENGINEERINGPrimary Location United Kingdom-England-Milton Keynes-UK, Milton Keynes, Precedent HouseJob Type Experienced - Exempt / OfficeRecruitment Job Type Exempt - ExperiencedJob Posting Mar 22, 2024, 12:21:32 PMUnposting Date OngoingRole Category Hybrid - Potential for Partial RemoteRelocation Package IneligibleThis position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.BENEFITSOVERVIEWBenefits and perks listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Cummins and the country where you work.FINANCIAL WELLNESSAs a Cummins employee your retirement savings plan / pension plan / superannuation will power your path to retirement and improve your financial future.HEALTH & WELLNESSYour wellbeing is important to us.
