Job Description
Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who is looking for a HV Electrical Technician based in Leeds.
Responsibilities
be trainable to High Voltage Standards,
tests, adjusts, and repairs all Electrical, pneumatic, steam raising, chilled and cooling water and electrical generating equipment and systems used for the generating complex safe operation,
able to accurately measure equipment, with the correct test equipment provided,
able to understand P &ID’s, Schematics, Single Line Diagrams and Maintenance Manuals and trace out and test Electrical systems to locate defective parts,
be able to fault find in a systematic manner,
defective Electrical equipment from system, repair, and refit Electrical components into system,
schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in Electrical, pneumatic, steam raising, chilled and cooling water and electrical generating equipment systems,
all documentation and records to the highest standard,
any work tasks are closed promptly to allow for timely processing and reporting,
a thorough understanding on the Site Permit to Work Systems, LV Permit to Work and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements including writing and application of Risk Assessments and Method Statements,
a source of site reference for all Electrical enquiries to support Senior Managers,
out Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance activities on the site,
out Electrical Reactive works on the site,
be conversant in a Computer Maintenance Management System,
of sourcing and purchasing parts and equipment for plant operations
site spares/consumables for all Electrical equipment.
Requirements
to work unsupervised and function as part of a team,
have First Aid Training,
to undertake LV isolation in conjunction with Electrical tasks,
be conversant in LV Electrical Switching and Permits,
fully conversant with Site Operating Procedures, Plans and any Protocols
