Electrical Technician - Plymouth and surrounding regions



�22.67 per hour



Peopleforce recruitment are supporting the expansion of a leading mechanical and engineering specialist company in Plymouth. This company transcends�the traditional boundaries of engineering. This role functions within their�Electrical Management division, where the�focus lies in delivering top-notch electrical installations to our commercial and industrial partners throughout the South West region. As a pivotal member of the�team, you'll oversee onsite electrical operations and manage the administrative tasks necessary for maintaining compliance with construction regulations.



This is a permanent position with standard hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. The compensation for this role is �22.67 per hour, with immediate availability for the right candidate. You'll also be enrolled in our pension scheme automatically.



Responsibilities:



Upon receiving directives from the Electrical Contracts Manager, oversee all aspects of onsite projects from inception to completion, including coordinating with subcontractors as necessary.



Collaborate effectively with technicians from various disciplines to ensure seamless delivery of turnkey projects.



Provide leadership and guidance to onsite electrical teams, offering coaching and training as needed.



Maintain an updated project schedule, communicating it promptly to all stakeholders and addressing any programmatic issues that arise.



Manage day-to-day resources for projects, reporting any staffing concerns as they arise. Inspire and motivate the team, identifying areas for improvement and leading efforts to implement enhancements.



Ensure clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders throughout the installation phase.



Keep comprehensive records of all site activities and paperwork to ensure compliance with construction regulations.



Submit project reports in a timely manner to relevant parties.



Efficiently manage material orders to support project progression.



Offer cost estimates for minor additional works or quotations when required.



Ensure all work adheres to IEE Standards, conducting reviews and recommending improvements where necessary.



Undertake various electrical installation tasks in industrial and commercial settings, including cable installations, equipment commissioning, and troubleshooting.



Provide technical support during onsite installation, testing, and commissioning phases.



Demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics and other technical drawings.



Be prepared to travel as needed to fulfill job requirements.



Actively promote the company and its services.





Experience Requirements



Hold qualifications as an approved electrician (Level 3 or equivalent), with a minimum of two years' experience in industrial and commercial settings.



Have at least three years of experience supervising projects to completion within agreed timeframes.



Demonstrate experience coordinating mechanical and electrical installations and commissioning.



Possess a strong commitment to adhering to Health and Safety regulations and fostering a safe working environment.



Maintain a positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to work, inspiring others to do the same.



Exhibit composure under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines.



Familiarity with completing permits to work and maintaining accurate paperwork.



Ability to comprehend client briefs and project constraints thoroughly.



Experience in customer-facing roles with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Proficiency in IT systems, including Office 365. Hold qualifications such as the 18th Edition and 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalents).



Possess essential certifications including a CSCS card and SMSTS course.



Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and representing the company professionally.
