Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG Print / Packaging Manufacturing business company with a site near Newcastle, to assist them in recruiting a Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer. Role Purpose: 

To provide electrical engineering support by completing planned and breakdown maintenance of equipment, ensuring it is carried out in a safe, timely and efficient manner, minimizing equipment down-time and improving line efficiency.  

Shifts: 

Monday to Friday, 3x shift rotation 
6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Summary of responsibilities: 


  • Ensure the production lines are safe to operate, resolving problems whilst proactively identifying, reporting and addressing potential hazards and near misses.  
  • Ensure all safety related maintenance electrical work is completed in a timely manner  
  • Follow and improve preventative maintenance plans with the aim of reducing unplanned down time 
  • Ensure the annual PPM schedule is adhered to and completed as required. •  
  • Support root cause investigations for repetitive breakdowns and to implement permanent solutions 
  • Be involved in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement activities 
  • Assist with relevant project work where maintenance involvement is required 
  • Ensure line efficiency is improved through timely repair, maintenance and improvement of equipment 
  • Ensure quality is improved and spoilage is reduced through timely repair, maintenance and improvement of equipment. 
  • Work closely with other engineering team members and the production team to ensure that the business objectives are met.  

 Required skills, knowledge & Experience: 

For this role our client is seeking an experienced Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineer with a background in a manufacturing maintenance environment. Ideally you will be qualified to a minimum of ONC/C&G Part III or HNC in electrical engineering.
