Electrical Service Engineer

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking an Electrical Service Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time permanent basis.





The role will involve going away from base from time to time throughout the year both within the UK/Scotland and overseas.



Role Summary:



Responsible for the after sales service, routine maintenance, breakdown support and repair response of all company supplied X-ray products. Responsible for in-house and on-site commissioning of new systems. The position requires constant liaison with customers, measurement of corrective actions for existing products and an active input into product development for obsolescence upgrades and effective preventative actions.





Main Responsibilities:




  • Routine service, maintenance, breakdown, and repairs at customer work sites in both the UK and abroad.

  • Diagnosing faults, recommending corrections and improvements where required.

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

  • Development, commissioning, and testing of electro mechanical – radiation elements of x-ray products both in house and on site.

  • Compilation of commissioning schedules, performance demonstration documentation, technical reports, and associated safety cases.

  • Pre-commissioning checks and inspection of X-ray product final builds.

  • Organisation and supervision of performance demonstrations, including interfacing with sales and software personnel for system calibrations and radiographic procedure development.

  • Providing customer training in equipment preventative maintenance routines, fault finding and routine operation.

  • Upkeep and maintenance of stock X-ray equipment, demonstration systems and spare parts.

  • Completing reports, risk assessment and method statement documents (RAMS), other paperwork and records in line with the quality management system and customer requirements.

  • On call for out-of-office support duties on a rotational basis, as and when required by customers.

  • Take reasonable care for the safety of yourself and anyone else who may be affected by your acts or omission in the course of your work.

  • Work as per client site requirements.





Qualifications & Experience:




  • Minimum qualification – HNC or HND Electrical Engineering.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.





Person Specification:




  • A broad background knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering practice together with a high level of ‘hands on’ skill and competency.

  • Competent in the safe use of electrical test and measurement equipment.

  • Good general knowledge and implementation of associated QA and Safety management procedure.

  • Full, clean, UK driving license.

  • Ability to obtain SC or DV security clearance.

  • Christmas shutdown must be taken from entitlement (usually 3 days).
