Job Overview:
Our client is a well-known National MEP Subcontractor, part of a larger Main Contracting business. They are delivering a £110 million MEP project in the Reading area spanning 4 years on site. The company is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to coordinate all Electrical engineering functions and ensure a successful outcome that meets the clients' technical and commercial requirements. Due to the project's location and sensitivity, applicants must hold UK Citizenship, a valid UK passport with full work rights, and eligibility to obtain SC level Security Clearance.
Role:
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Technically vet all procurement packages.
Coordinate services for proper integration into the building and liaise with other disciplines.
Oversee the production of all drawings, including plant and sub-contract layouts, to ensure coordination.
Provide support to the Project Surveyor on commercial matters.
Undertake and manage all labor/direct material matters.
Conduct regular audits of the Productivity Scheme and ensure completion with the Foreman/Site Manager.
Issue labor targets ahead of work activities on site.
Progress the site production report regularly on site with Foreman/Site Manager.
Maintain accurate records of labor and material elements used in the prefabricated sections of the project.
Manage technical and progress issues related to Plant and Sub-Contractor elements using the technical submission process.
Support the Site Manager on any installation matters.
Maintain Procurement Schedule, Technical Submission, and Drawings.
Conduct regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews with the Site Manager to plan, progress, and monitor installations.
Support the Project Manager in all project-related matters and act as Project Manager in their absence.
Represent the company on internal and external issues.
Qualifications / Experience:
Requirements for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree, HNC, or ONC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. A suitable master’s degree may be advantageous.
Previous project engineering experience is recommended.
Several years of experience working in the engineering field.
Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
The ability to motivate staff.
A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required.
