Position Title: HV Electrical Project Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Great Barr, Birmingham

Salary: �40,000 - �65,000 (DOE)

Our client is a specialist electrical contractor working primarily on customer owned high voltage networks. They have an excellent reputation for working hand in hand with our customers who include Jaguar Land Rover, Muller Dairies and Severn Trent.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to plan, design, coordinate and manage high voltage installations including associated civil works up to �2m in value.

1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To securing profitable work and manage projects from concept to completion.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Grow the customer base attracting new business.


• Work within agreed standards of performance in responding to customer enquiries and proposal deadlines.


• Control work in progress costs.


• To take ownership and responsibility for health and safety critical issues during the quotation/design & implementation of all projects.

3. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• A technical qualification appropriate to grade. Must have experience within HV, LV networks (Up to 33Kv)


• Experience in electrical contracting.


• HV/LV Protection knowledge and understanding.


• Selling and negotiating skills.


• Sales planning and forecasting skills.


• Knowledge of the decision-making process in major customer accounts.


• Ability to develop new customers accounts.


• Knowledge of designing and estimating electrical installations to current company, industry, and legislative standards.


• Ability to exercise control over work in progress costs.


• Knowledge and application of Contract legislation.


• Knowledge and skills in health and safety management including a formal qualification. (IOSH Certificate)


• PC literate with a good knowledge of MS Office.


• A passion to win profitable work and manage to completion.


• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.


• An ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and staff at all levels.


• An understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 procedures.
