Electrical Project Engineer



An exciting opportunity awaits an Electrical Project Engineer eager to advance their career in Electrical Engineering. This role offers involvement in HV/LV and process control equipment projects within Thermal Power Generation. As part of a diverse team, the Electrical Project Engineer will contribute to designing, developing, and implementing power generation solutions, particularly in the renewable and power sectors.



Responsibilities of an Electrical Project Engineer:




  • Design and engineer electrical distribution systems for various applications.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic analyses for energy generation & storage projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Perform system modelling, simulation, and optimization.

  • Develop and implement control strategies for optimal energy management.

  • Stay updated with industry advancements and ensure compliance with standards.

  • Support project development activities and conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.



Skills & Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, engineering, and implementing power generation solutions.

  • Proficiency in system modelling and simulation software such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • Solid understanding of grid integration requirements, power system dynamics, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ENA, BS7671).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and practical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to energy generation systems.

  • Professional engineering certification or chartered engineer status.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and associated components.

  • Understanding of energy project financing and economic evaluation methodologies.

  • Willingness to travel to site facilities and offices across the UK.

  • Salary: Circa £50k,
