Reed Talent Solutions are currently working with a London based NHS Trust to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician on a temporary-permanent basis. The post-holder will assist with the repair of designated plant and equipment within the limits of their

3-month temporary position with a view to being made permanent Salary: £31,909Location: Plaistow Key Responsibilities
Undertake duties of a Competent Person in accordance with the relevant NHS HTM Guidance to prevent danger, or where appropriate, injury and to accept a permit to work from an Authorised Person.Work safely on mechanical systems in accordance with all statutory mechanical regulations and health and safety legislation and regulations as appointed Competent Person for Trust on one of more of the following systems:- Boiler & Pressure Systems Medical
Gas Systems Ventilation Systems Confined SpacesTake responsibility for the maintenance of all aspects of mechanical, plumbing/drainage systems including HVAC plant, washroom services, sterilisers, bedpan macerators/ washers, disinfectors and other mechanical equipment,ancillary plant and systems.Carry out statutory water hygiene works as instructed to ensure compliance with Trust policy/guidance, including compliance with the Approved Code of Practice and HTM’s on Legionella/Pseudomonas controls.Prepare items of plant in readiness for insurance inspection as defined in the Pressure systems regulations.Undertake day to day reactive works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Line Manager.Investigate and carry out work raised by the Estates Line Management on maintenance requisitions and report back any faults or issues.Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical equipment and systems and to deal with new situations as they arise. Follow planned maintenance schedules and carry out planned preventive maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Essential Criteria
To have served a recognised Apprenticeship (To City & Guild 236/NVQ level 3 standard.BTEC/ONC or equivalent)The Level 2 & 3 NVQs in Mechanical Engineering Services - Heating, Plumbing and Ventilation or BTEC/ONC or equivalent.Good knowledge of H&S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHHKnowledge of Mechanical (HVAC) installationsKnowledge of Hospital Health Building Notifications (HBN)
