Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team within a large blown film extrusion manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production engineering, experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools, and excellent IT skills. This role involves undertaking planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installations to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing site.

Day to day of the role:

  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections.
  • Engage in fault finding and diagnostics in both reactive breakdowns and planned situations.
  • Maintain a variety of production machinery, including extruders and site services, through planned preventative maintenance.
  • Address breakdowns promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to PPM schedules.
  • Support project development and follow stringent HSE and standard company practices.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to provide proactive support to the plant and equipment, maximising production output.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and suggest solutions for improved ways of working.
  • Execute maintenance tasks as part of planned maintenance or as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Investigate incidents to identify root causes and understand the importance of preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and clear written records, ensuring documentation is kept to a high standard.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HNC or Degree level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Proven track record in production engineering.
  • Experience using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Time served apprenticeship (or equivalent) with a recognised qualification in a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a production maintenance environment.
  • Proactive and dynamic approach to health, safety, and environmental situations.
