The Company -

A leading contractor offering turnkey solutions for energy projects across the UK including grid infrastructure projects, installation of battery storage plants, solar energy projects and civil engineering services

The Role -

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Balance of Plant Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical tender packages, evaluating suppliers and subcontractors, managing tender-related correspondence, and calculating material take-offs. This role will work closely with the Bid Manager and collaborate with various disciplines to ensure accurate cost estimating and contract requirements for medium to large projects.

Responsibilities -

- Prepare comprehensive electrical tender packages from initial brief to final draft stage.

- Identify and evaluate suppliers and specialist subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements.

- Manage all tender-related correspondence, including inquiries and clarifications.

- Calculate minor material take-offs to support accurate cost estimation.

- Prepare post-tender and handover documentation in collaboration with project teams.

- Attend tender-related meetings and contribute to discussions on technical and commercial aspects.

- Work collaboratively with the Bid Manager to support bid preparation and submission processes.

Criteria -

- Knowledge of electrical systems, including cables, transformers, substations, and switchgear.

- A third-level qualification in electrical engineering or quantity surveying, or equivalent trade experience.

- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an Estimator working on medium to large projects.

- Strong technical knowledge of electrical balance of plant components and systems.

- Ability to coordinate with various disciplines (engineering, contracts, etc.) for cost estimating and contract requirements.

- Experience working with 132kV and above systems.

- Preference for experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV, Wind, Hydrogen, and other renewable energy projects.

Working Arrangement -
- Hybrid working model with site visits - Glasgow
