Electrical Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Our Birmingham-based renewable energy client is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As an Electrical Engineer, the position will include monitoring and maintenance of the district energy Network. Primarily, the function is to understand the complex running of all Energy Network assets, in maintaining both the operating integrity and revenue margins. This person will also be required to understand and provide educated guidance for the electro-mechanical and gas engineers on the scheduling of required PPM and statutory tasks required to meet the needs of running and maintaining assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment.
  • Working as a team member or alone to complete both scheduled maintenance and any remedial actions.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting electrical codes.
  • Making decisions based on technical documents.
  • Performing quality testing and inspections.
  • Required to ensure the maintenance of organisation's operating systems and reporting platforms.
  • To review and operate assets to fulfil both the efficiency and availability of BDEC assets.
  • To be part of a 1 week in every 4, standby call-out-rota.
  • To plan and review 'Pirana' for Statutory, PPM and reactive works.
  • Required to ensure that the BMS controls are working to maintain the schemes efficient operating margins.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • A recognised City and Guilds Electrical qualification (industrial and Commercial), Journeyman experience and or the completion an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Empirical Electrical knowledge / skills in the remedial and statutory maintenance.
  • Experience of working on LTHW boiler systems and their statute maintenance regimes.
  • Fault-finding and practical skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • TREND Control understanding and or level of qualification.
