My client is a leading, accredited service provider with nearly 40 years' experience in offering Electrical and Fire Compliance services to Housing Associations and Local Authorities across London and the South-East.





With a primary focus on 'people's safety', they are trusted by local authorities, housing associations, and emergency services to uphold fire and electrical compliance in thousands of homes and public buildings. Core service offering includes:





- Planned preventive maintenance



- Cyclical maintenance



- Responsive and reactive repairs



- Testing and inspection



- Installation, regeneration, and improvement projects





Over the past 12 months, the organisation has experienced significant growth. They now employ over 150 engineers and 50 office staff. My client prioritises their training and development for the mutual benefit of individuals and the organisation. Notably, a significant portion of the Senior Management Team, including the Managing Director, have grown within the organisation, starting from apprenticeship schemes and serving for over 15 years.

Job Purpose:



The role entails executing day-to-day tasks to the highest standards in alignment with relevant contracts, safety regulations, and electrical codes. It requires providing exemplary customer service to clients and residents.





Main duties and responsibilities:



As an electrical engineer, reporting to the Supervisor/Contract Manager, you serve as the primary liaison between the company and the clients. Your role necessitates strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with a comprehensive understanding of the electrical industry. Main responsibilities include:





- Performing electrical maintenance, repairs, servicing, inspection, and testing



- Diagnosing and rectifying faults



- Conducting electrical remedial works



- Undertaking new electrical inspections



- Addressing reactive electrical tasks



- Completing emergency lighting inspections and repairs



- Ensuring work is conducted to company standards, especially in varied environments like schools, void, occupied, and communal areas



- Upholding the highest levels of customer care and promoting a positive image of the company externally



- Adhering to company procedures and policies for efficient service delivery



- Timely and accurate reporting



- Compliance with the company's quality management system and responsible recycling practices





Experience & Skills:



- Experience in electrical repair, maintenance, servicing, and installations, ideally in the public sector



- Proficiency with tools, equipment, and materials common to the Electrical Trade



- Preferably possessing a CSCS card



- Current Trade Qualifications



- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written



- Ability to interpret schematics and electrical drawings



- IT proficiency



- Dedication to excellent customer service





Salary and benefits:



- Competitive salary based on experience (PAYE)



- 23 days holiday per year, with the opportunity to accrue additional days based on length of service, up to a maximum of 25 days
