Electrical Design Engineer (Junior to Senior) Stoke on Trent area, Staffordshire
£32,000 - 55,000 + benefits
This is a chance for a junior or experienced electrical design engineer to join a successful and expanding manufacturing company in Staffordshire. In this role you will gain first-hand experience of new and innovative machine technologies.
The company designs and manufactures a broad range of mobile machinery for various applications within the construction and agricultural industries. You will be involved with the design and integration of electrical systems for new and existing products such as hydraulic platforms.
The role is open graduate, junior and experienced electrical design engineers.
Required: Electrical Design Engineer
* A professional engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) in a relevant subject (e.g. electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, etc)
* At least 2 years of industry experience within electrical design engineering
* Demonstrable experience of the design and integration of electrical systems, power distribution and control subsystems for LV products or similar (AC or DC – 12/24v)
* Able to produce electrical schematics and specify components, fuses, protection, size cables, and produce safe and compliant designs in accordance with appropriate legislation.
* Experience of PLC control, logic relay control, or similar control systems could be useful
* Able to support build, integration, test and commissioning of products through the manufacturing process
* Background working on electrical designs for mobile machinery, vehicles, marine vessels, or similar would be very useful
* Ability to work as part of a large team, checking drawings with other engineers internally as well as external suppliers and test facilities.
A background in the design and development of LV automation and control systems (e.g. for automated manufacturing, etc) could be very useful.

As well as the above requirements, the graduate / electrical engineer should have;
* Good communication skills (written / verbal).
* Be confident and able to deal with customers and liaise with various engineering and manufacturing teams.
* Have good experience and knowledge of LV directives and standards.
* The ability to specify test and validation processes in support of product validation would be good.
* Experience of problem solving and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) would be good.
* Use of CAD systems for schematic design and layout would be good (e.g. AutoCAD etc)
This graduate / electrical design role is based onsite near Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. It is commutable from Stafford, Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, Burton-upon-Trent, Cannock, Uttoxter, Rugeley, Lichfield, Walsall, Ashbourne, and Tamworth
