Electrical Controls Design Engineer

£50000 - £55000 Annual Tax Free Bonus 5% of Salary+ Health Insurance (70 % of salary paid for life), 10% Employer Pension.

This company develops test systems for some of the worlds most prestigious engineering businesses spanning Aerospace, Automotive and Power Generation sectors.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:

Have an active participation in engineering projects including interaction with customers & internal departments as required
Test, diagnose & rectify faults to validate products
Ensure designs meet legislative requirements
Creation of system specifications & test documentation to a high standard

Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical)
Practical experience of designing & developing control & instrumentation systems
Motor Inverter drive set up for variable speed applications
Knowledge of any of the following advantageous:
industrial communication protocols e.g. ProfiNET, EtherNetIP, EtherCAT
Industrial wiring & switchgear, design & selection techniques
Industrial sensors e.g. encoders, transducers
Control loop design e.g. PID
ATEX & EMC standards & design
Electrical legislation & compliance techniques UKCA, CE, UL, CSA

Located in Northampton, this role would be commutable from Coventry, Northampton, Kettering & Rugby.

The role would also suit an experienced electrical design engineer or a control engineer who enjoys hardware element as part of their portfolio. The position can be combined with PLC software for the right candidate.
