Position: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Scarborough

Salary: �35-45K, commensurate with experience

Nicholas Associates Engineering have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to work with a leading manufacturing client in Scarborough.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Create electrical designs using CAD software of Industrial Uninterruptible Power Supply equipment for customer orders.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings and single line diagrams.
  • Write specifications for the procurement of key materials, manufacturing and testing of the equipment.
  • Create Bills of Materials suitable for the procurement of parts.
  • Issue the required settings for configurable devices, e.g. protective devices, control modules etc.
  • Work closely with other departments to enable any given project to be completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Produce other key documentation, e.g. wiring schedules, cable calculations, operating philosophy etc. to support any given customer order.
  • Provide technical support throughout the manufacture and testing process.
  • Offer support to the Sales and Applications team to assist in quoting for new enquires.
  • Contribute to the achievement of department and business KPI objectives.
  • Complete any reasonable task as directed by your line manager.

You will be:

A professional Engineer with minimum qualifications at HND or Degree level preferably in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Minimum levels of educational background will not apply were sufficient experience and training is evident.

Desired Experience:

  • Electrical design of Uninterruptible Power Supply equipment
  • AutoCAD and Zuken E3 CAD Software
  • Working within an ERP system
  • DC, AC and battery circuit design
  • Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671
  • PLC programming desirable but not essential
