Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a team of skilled engineers based in Rochdale specialising in turnkey systems for the manufacture of a wide range of products.

In this role, you'll be spearheading innovative projects, crafting cutting-edge designs using Autocad or Eplan, and collaborating with a dynamic team along the way.

What’s on offer?

• £39,000 - £44,000 per year


• Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm / Friday 8:30am – 2:00pm


• Unlimited overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)


• 31 days holiday (rising by 2 days for 5 years)

What will you be doing as a Electrical Design Engineer?

• Executing tasks in line with assigned schedules and completion dates


• Undertaking necessary calculations and managing small projects


• Designing and detailing equipment/systems using Autocad or Eplan, ensuring quality standards


• Designing control panel layouts and sizing cable/switchgear components based on specifications


• Assisting in PLC/HMI selection and supporting Spares/Service Department in parts sourcing


• Specifying and sourcing components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and cost targets


• Providing Safety Reports and calculations for Technical Files


• Adhering to relevant European Legislation, including EN ISO (phone number removed)/2, 18th Edition, PUWER regulations, Machinery directive/CE/CA marking


• Conducting testing of Control Panels/Systems as required


• Collaborating with all departments to achieve project cost and lead time targets

What do you need?

• Electrical design experience


• Proficiency with Eplan and AutoCAD 


• Knowledge of testing/inspection


• Previous experience in designing electrical control paneling


• HNC qualification or above in engineering (or similar)
