Electrical Design Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer based on the outskirts of Leeds to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Controls System Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer will contribute towards the development of the next generation of machines.

Our client is looking for someone who has experience working in an innovative environment and providing innovative solutions whilst evaluating technical requirements and providing viable solutions.

Duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer include:

• Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure design solutions are delivered in the most cost effective manner
• Ensure schedules are understood and workload is managed
• Effectively communicate project status to the Controls Systems Manager, customers and suppliers;
• Play a proactive role in the department’s continuous improvement programme;
• Mentor Electrical Designers to ensure the quality of the department design output
• Provide technical input during project design review meetings;
• Support assembly and commissioning activities
• Provide a high level of skill in interpreting the Customer and regulatory requirements to ensure electrical designs are perfectly aligned
• Ensure relevant design documents are issued in line with the schedule
• Ensure that design quality is maintained throughout the project
• Perform the role of technical support in collaboration with the Control Systems Manager

We would be keen to speak with Electrical Design Engineers with the following skills:

• Apprentice trained in electrical or mechatronic engineering
• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
• Proficient in the use of electrical design software
• Sound interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise work within tight timescales
