Job Title: Electrical Controls & Automation Project/Design Engineer
Location: Kings Lynn
Salary: Depending on Experience

Due to continued success and year on year growth there is an opportunity for a talented Control Systems Project Engineer to join our business and assist in our drive forward. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their full grasp and understanding of Automation and Control Systems Engineering, appreciating the need for diligence, accuracy and commitment.


Responsibilities
Lead Projects from start to finish, through design and engineering for motor controls and automated systems
Preparation of Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and associated design documentation
Prepare accurate quotations / estimates for large value projects
Specify & Design hardware solutions complying with all relevant standards (UKCA / CE / UL ) using E-plan and AutoCAD :
Full Electrical Schematics
Control Panel Enclosure Layouts
Back-plate Layouts
Designing PLC & HMI Solutions including writing code, configuration & testing
Liaising with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and other businesses
Taking a Lead role during Integration and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Maintaining regular communication with production to ensure a quality product is delivered to the client
Post installation & call out support duties
General Project Engineering / Management Duties
Work effectively in a fast paced multi-tasking environment
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience working with a variety of control systems including PLC’s & Relay Logic
Experience designing and programming control systems with an emphasis on PLC’s, SCADA or HMI systems
Experience with any of the following communications protocols would prove beneficial - EtherNet/IP, Modbus, TCP/RTU
Ladder and Structured Text Programming Languages
Knowledgeable in reading and creating P&ID’s
Knowledge of pneumatics is a plus but not required
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDS)
Servo Motion Control
Ability to Trouble shoot Control Systems
Competent and experienced in all forms of Commissioning
Key Requirements
A minimum of HNC / HND qualification in an Electrical / Control Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Excellent Technical writing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
A customer focused and determined attitude
Positive energy and attitude to bring to the office
Be a Great Problem Solver that is highly motivated with great communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with very good organisation skills
Hold a valid driver’s license and able to drive company vehicles
Willing to work out of hours on certain occasions
Willingness to obtain additional certifications / qualification if required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
A high standard of English
Ability to travel
