This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education Welfare Service for a temporary post of Education Welfare Officer . The posts is full time for 37 hours per week form 1st April 2024 – 31st March 2025
You will need to have a sound knowledge and experience of attendance issuesand a proven track record in safeguarding procedure. You will need to have worked in a school. You will need to have experience in leading multi-agency meetings to help support a better outcome for the family and inevitably improve the pupil/young person’s school attendance, liaising with partners and attending other relevant meetings as necessary.
You will need to have experience of excellent organisational skills, whilst managing a complex case load with clear prioritisation whilst under pressure.
You will be working with schools, young people and families, as well as contributing to the wider work of the Education Welfare Service through cluster working.
Through line management and supervision support you will be guided though standard Education Welfare Officer responsibilities within the role and youwill need to be experienced and skilled in working in partnershipto identify and assist in enabling children and young people to overcomebarriers to consistent school attendance.
The role will require you to offer both support and challenge.
