The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver education, skills, and employment activities to support and work with a team that is responsible for the development of several exciting projects. These ground-breaking projects are aimed at improving the supply of water to our customers as well as providing improvements and protection of the environment.The education programme you develop should be creative and seek to inform children, young people and their families about the need for investment in water infrastructure. It should also inspire and encourage young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths subjects and careers.We are looking to create a skills and employment programme that helps to secure the appropriate skills for the successful delivery of the projects and deliver economic and social value. It will be reflective of the customers we serve and tailored to different represented groups, complement programmes being delivered by local organisations and charities, and be aligned with Thames Water’s strategic priorities.What you’ll be doing as the Education, Skills and Employment Manager Develop and deliver an education programme for the strategic infrastructure projects for primary and secondary schools, as well as engage with local colleges.Prepare innovative and engaging resources which inspire young people to take an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects and careers.Support the Legacy Manager to bring the voice of young people into the design of the infrastructure projects.Develop and deliver a skills and employment programme which meets the needs of the projects and delivers sustainable economic and social value.Build and maintain relationships with local organisations and stakeholders in the education and skills fields.Monitor and report on the programme outcomes.Communicate and showcase the programmes.This role will be based out of our head office at Clearwater Court in Reading but will involve travel across our region.What you should bring to the role You will have experience in an education role, working with schools and education professionals.Have previously created and implemented education, skills, and employment programmes.Experience working with stakeholders in the fields of skills, apprenticeships, and employment.Be a fantastic communicator with the ability to influence at various levels inside and outside the business.Ability to manage projects, usually more than one at a time, multi-tasking and managing time and priorities.You will be a supportive team player, flexible in terms of the ability to travel across our sites, and resilient when faced with challenges in a changing environment.What’s in it for you?
