We are a specialist recruitment and headhunting agency working on behalf of our client, a market leading London based renewable energy industry association.
A talented and experienced Economics Policy Analyst is sought by the company to join their team on a full time basis.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in economics, sustainability, renewables, and energy policy as well as excellent academics, and a dedication to becoming an expert in climate related communications.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an Economics Policy Analyst to develop, refine and deliver the policy strategy of our associations, developing the evidence base which informs our policy thinking and helps set the direction of the industry at large. You will support association members with requests for information, providing market analysis to help inform their decision-making. You will lead the analysis for a number of high-quality reports, including regular market and policy reports, as well as one-off reports looking at specific aspects of the renewable energy industry.
Essential skills/experience required:
• Economics Policy and Advocacy Experience
• Research and Analysis
• Policy Development and Implementation
• Familiarity with the legislative process
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working with senior internal/external stakeholders
• Knowledge of the waste, agriculture or energy sectors is highly advantageous
• Project management experience
Desirable experience:
• International Experience: Given the global nature of environmental challenges, experience working on an international scale or engaging with international organisations or programmes would be highly advantageous as would knowledge of international policies and frameworks related to renewable energy and sustainability.
• Demonstrable commitment to sustainability, renewable energy and/or the green economy
• Effective at communicating to influence stakeholders using evidence and quick thinking to make a strong argument and tailor communications to a variety of stakeholders with different viewpoints.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work to strict deadlines
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for supporting the Policy Lead in delivering the policy strategy, delivering a range of high-quality reports and publications on the latest policy and market information, drafting presentations and supporting association members by responding to requests for information. Through your understanding of the industry, you will contribute to the programmes for events as well as articles for company newsletters.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting analysis for quarterly market and policy reports
Develop evidence-based policy solutions; develop and deliver an effective public affairs strategy; build relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians and officials to address strategic policy issues
Keep abreast of relevant publications/statements/reports in the public domain and provision of advice and analysis on political and economic issues affecting the industry
Maintaining steadfast working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Investigate life cycle analysis of renewable energy facilities and carbon
Demonstrable commitment to sustainability, renewable energy and/or the green economy and a keen interest in Policy issues
Previous experience of working in a similar role for at least 2 years
Excellent research skills and strong quantitative analysis skills
A proficient communicator, collaborator and relationship manager
The ability to author clear, persuasive and accurate written and oral communications
Developing, designing, promoting and influencing policy with domestic and international environmental regulators and policy influencers such as the Environment Agency (UK), CCAC, UNEP, FAO and IPCC
Providing and managing the production of high-quality policy, regulatory and market information to association members through blogs, weekly emails and reports
Contributing articles and ideas for News and the wider trade press.
Contributing to the programmes for events by providing ideas for topics and speakers to the Conference Producer, Events and Marketing Team
