Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading tourism operator, based in Staffordshire to recruit for an Ecommerce Trading Manager during a time are very exciting digital growth and transformation. You will be joining a growing and talented team to help the business in their continued success.

Location: Staffordshire

Salary: �35,000-�45,000

Contract: Full time, permanent

Hybrid working pattern: 2 days per week in office

Start date: April-June 2024

Role:

This role is focused 100% on improving the functionality and merchandising opportunities of the site. You will be asked to devise and execute strategies to optimise leads, sales, and revenue on the website, with a focus on both acquiring new customers and retaining existing ones. This will be a data heavy role where you will look into each area of the site as well as collaborating with various departments to identify and implement initiatives that enhance the online showcasing and trading of the product portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute an e-commerce trading strategy and plan to maximise leads, sales, and revenue, targeting both new customer acquisition and customer retention.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, commercial, and operational teams to identify and implement initiatives for enhancing the online presentation and trading of the product portfolio.
  • Analyse website and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for improvement, support the prioritisation of enhancements within the digital roadmap, and drive continuous optimisation.
  • Partner with production and brand teams to develop engaging and conversion-focused content and digital assets.
  • Develop an e-commerce content calendar aligned with seasonal trends and booking targets, ensuring timely delivery of content in accordance with brand guidelines and business priorities.
  • Work with Brand, CRM, Paid Media, SEO, and Partnership teams to develop key landing pages, campaign promotions, product recommendations, merchandising techniques, and personalisation strategies.
  • Utilise web, customer, and booking data to generate insights, develop reporting frameworks, and drive actionable recommendations to enhance e-commerce effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in e-commerce to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness.

Candidate criteria:

  • Proven experience in e-commerce trading and merchandising, demonstrating a track record of delivering growth.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data and inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels including email marketing, paid media advertising, SEO, and social media marketing.
  • Experience in the travel industry would be advantageous.
